VDAY shenanigans

On Valentine’s eve, my house had an incredible party that was filled with fun, chocolate, and love notes. I thought the host, Natalie (Shown below. Look at her, GORGEOUS!) had such great ideas you might want to implement into your next festive party!

She bought twine, paper bags, candy, and tacks to make a heart on our wall filled with treats for our close friends. We had instructions for anyone to get a valentine or some candy and slip it in someones bag and when everyone left, they could take their bag as a favor! How cute is that!

We tacked wrapping paper we got at Michaels on a plain wall to set up as a ‘photo booth’! Natalie made a homemade ‘Happy Valentine’s day’ banner that was my favorite decoration from the night. We had a little table set up with bubbles, glasses, and other fun objects that people could take pictures with. *you could also have an instagram hashtag that people can tag if they want to use the wall for an insta shot!*

These amazing cupcakes were delicious and beautiful. We also had sugar cookies, chocolates, chips, & lollipops. We even had a tea & coffee bar! They were all such hits!

You know those days when you feel so accomplished you just want to post it on facebook? Or write a book and entitle it, “I’m awesome”? Well, in the process of my book being written (like, never), I’m writing a blog post about it.

I had 8 missing homework assignments (I know I know, pitiful) and I completed them all. I did 3 weeks worth of laundry, folded it, put my clothes away, & organized my closet. I made my bed all pretty, vacuumed, did some art, & went grocery shopping. I scheduled 5 photoshoots in one day and one of the families paid for my ticket out to LA to shoot their newborn thus enabling me to schedule 4 more shoots while I’m there! I booked a flight to Georgia for spring break, got the entire ticket paid for by my miles, and then woke up this morning to a bouquet of absolutely stunning red roses from my boyfriend of one week ‘just because he never wanted to stop making me feeling special’.

I’m sitting here in my bed with a delicious candle burning & my red roses smiling at me thinking about how my schedule goes a little something like this:

San Francisco trip this weekend

Weekend in LA at the end of this month

Yosemite National Park weekend with my family in March

Australia for 2 weeks in March

Georgia for 2 weeks in April

and I’m just thinking,

“How did this become my life?!”.

Honestly, I’m glad I blog because its forcing me to sit here and acknowledge how blessed I am. There are definitely seasons in life where it is hard and stupid and I hate to go through them; we all do. But right now….life is good. Life is more than good.

AND to top it all off, I saw THE CUTEST baby today.

Gosh guys, pinch me I’m DREAMING.

Anyhoo, these pictures are of my room because frankly I’m pretty stinking proud of it.
